Chrysocolla malachite can be found around the world in association with primary copper deposits and often with secondary copper minerals such as azurite and cuprite.  While it's not a rare stone, quality specimens can command high value.  It displays with rich, vivid blue and green colors and has been used in carvings and jewelry since antiquity.  

Care of stone:  Chrysocolla malachite is comparatively soft and thus it requires the same gentle care as most jewelry.  Avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures, and prolonged sunlight.  It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild soap.  Avoid ultrasonic cleaners.
